Due to this accelerated expansion, Söderberg & Partners is looking to add additional competence to the M&A team in Stockholm. The team currently consists of four people, two with a corporate finance M&A background and two with a legal M&A background.
You will be responsible for executing smaller M&A transactions and assisting the Head of M&A and the team with originating and executing larger projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will span across the full breadth of an M&A-process – involving tasks such as target screening, preparing valuation materials and offers to targets, overseeing due diligence activities and providing support in negotiations. Söderberg & Partners are highly focused on execution and produces very limited “internal” materials etc.
In addition, you will be working in close proximity to the group management team (CEO/CFO) and there may be an opportunity to get engaged in other business development related projects.
While the role is based in Stockholm, you may be expected to travel on average for one to two days every month.
Our client is looking for a candidate with a genuine interest for the financial industry and the ambition to work within the M&A sector. You should be team-oriented, have an outgoing personality as well as an analytical mindset. Additionally, a strong work ethic and an ability to manage multiple simultaneous work streams is essential. Transaction experience from the financial services sector would be a merit.
The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree within finance, business or engineering with 1-3 years’ experience from the following:
- Investment Banking or M&A boutique
- Corporate Finance or Transaction Services from the Big 4
- Management Consultancy
- M&A department from a corporate
Furthermore, you must have:
- Strong academic track record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English and Swedish)
Working as part of a small team your role will be broad so you will need to demonstrate a great degree of flexibility regarding your tasks.
Finally, you will deal with counterparties ranging from large, private equity-backed businesses down to single entrepreneurs running local small-town businesses – all within highly competitive sectors of the financial services industry – rendering a need also for great adaptability in communication style.
